Light showering on Norbulinka, the summer palace of Dalai Lama.

I took this picture on the day of Washing Festival. The festival takes place during the beginning of the seventh month ( approximately early September ) and lasts about a week. Everyone in Lhasa goes to river to wash themselves and their clothes. According to a legend, bathing like this can cure sickness of any description.
At the Norbulinka, the Palace of Dalai Lama, surrounded by a holy river were camped fully by the local residents. I cruised in and out between the river bank and court yards capturing the spirit of festivity.
